The Challenge
The healthcare trust faced an urgent requirement for additional administrative office space to accommodate expanding regional medical services coordination. Their existing facilities were operating at capacity, hindering efficient patient care management and staff productivity. The site presented logistical constraints with limited space for traditional construction, whilst maintaining full operational access for emergency services was paramount. Additionally, the trust required a cost-effective solution that could be delivered within strict NHS procurement guidelines and timescales.
Our Solution
ModularSpace designed and manufactured a bespoke two-storey office complex comprising interconnected modular units totalling 850 square metres. Our solution incorporated modern open-plan offices, private consultation rooms, meeting facilities, and dedicated IT server areas with appropriate healthcare-grade ventilation systems. The modular construction approach allowed for off-site manufacturing whilst site preparation occurred simultaneously, significantly reducing installation time. We coordinated delivery and installation during planned maintenance windows to ensure zero disruption to critical healthcare operations.
The Results
The project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule, providing immediate accommodation for 65 administrative staff members. Energy efficiency improvements of 25% were achieved compared to the trust's existing facilities, resulting in annual cost savings of £18,000. Patient service coordination improved measurably with reduced processing times for appointments and referrals.
